Polerouter (first watches were named Polarouter) was a joint marketing project Universal Geneve (UG) launched in connection with Scandinavian Air System's (SAS) ground breaking new flights from Scandinavia over the North Pole to USA in 1954. UG produced the Polerouter to "withstand the magnetic field, vibrations and demands to accuracy" that the airmen in SAS required. The watch was priced similiar to Rolex Explorer.
