We are charmed by this Alpina. It is a reasonable priced watch from a respected manufacturer. In short a well used vintage dress watch, with gold plating. The prominent, arrow shaped centre second hand indicates a proud statement of not having a sub second dial. The caliber 598 was early using a “sweep” seconds hand, a would have made this watch more expensive than the sub second versions (that would be using older movement calibers). The movement runs ok, but it has not been serviced by us, thus keeping the price down. Wear can be seen on the back of the lugs, but the wrist appearance is very near mint. The shaped crown is original, and this Alpina is matched with a new, high quality Morellato strap.
