Orange wonderdial
Near mint, rare diver
Monnin at it’s best (and largest)
Heuer divers were an instant success. The range was introduced in the late 1970s with automatic ETA movements, although most models became quartz driven around 1980. You could buy automatics still for some time, but they are now rarer. Several producers used the French Monnin cases, but the Heuers are probably the most desirable. And, in our experience, the black dial versions are much easier to come by than this striking orange one. There is a small imperfection on the dial between 8 and 9, but that is not easy to find unless using a loupe. The “Mercedes” hands are perfect and the crystal and bezel and scratch free and unmarked. (The bezel has a tiny ding at 12). The movement is checked and runs accurately. The stainless “Monnin” 42 mm case is very good for a second hand diver that has hardly been used. This is a vintage watch you don´t see every day!
