This mint vintage dates from 1969 and has may attractive features: It is just under 37mm, it has the original bracelet with the instructions for expansion with extra links intact and a no lume perfect dial. The “NATIONAL” company name printed under the applied SEIKO logo must qualify this watch as very rare. The manual 21 jewel runs as a newly serviced watch should (not serviced by us though). It has the modern quickset date function. Watch reference number is 6102-8000U. The bracelet has end links stamped 6100 – 800 and is short (will fit wrists up to 15cm). If you choose, a new standard length gents black leather strap can be fitted instead.
promoted the Japanese company National, (now called Panasonic) in the seventies. You can find (and should look at!) their commercial videos on YouTube. The brand name promotion on this watch is a nice reminder that good watches made for co-branding with other companies or special events have a special appeal to collectors. And: Could it have been gifted to the ABBA team? Did this watch actually at one time belong to Agnetha or Anni-Frid? The short bracelet indicates it has been used by someone with a slender wrist, and we bought this watch in Sweden, so let’s play with that thought … !
