Description

A typical diver´s watch from the period. Lagonda vintage from 1966. Dial marking “T<25mc” is often used on 1960s watches when the earlier use of Radium lume at last was acknowledged as a threat to your health (showing that the level of Tritium radiation was less than 25 micro Curie). It has the typical large crosshatched crowns used on “Super-Compressors”. The top crown operates the internal bezel, the lower sets the time and is used to wind the watch (if it needed to be started due to the owner having left it for a couple of days, not keeping the automatic movement charged). The back of this watch still has remnants of text, but it is not visible on the photos. The inside back cover shows a divers helmet, patent applications and the date 11-66. We like to say that watches from the sixties are the best, and this is a quite early Super-Compressor. The 25 jewels automatic movement is ETA 2472, first on the market in 1965. The diameter of the stainless steel case is the typical 36mm, lug width is 18mm. It can be delivered with a rubber strap if you wish. We have fully serviced and regulated the movement, and relumed the dial and hands. It is now a vintage diver’s watch you can wear every day.
