Certainly, this is a Certina Blue Ribbon!? Yes, but is from a batch that was specially made for Volvo Cars to celebrate Volvo´s 50th anniversary in 1977. This example is in near mint condition throughout.

Volvo´s celebration model (reference number 913 1218 41) had a large production run, but we have not seen many as good as this Blue Wonder! Therefore it has been given a full service. The high quality movement is the famous caliber 25-651M with 26 jewels (The “25” stands for 25 mm movement diameter). Some of the “Blue Ribbon Volvos” has a less merited 21 jewels 2783 ETA movement. The stainless steel case is 36mm wide and the thickness is 12,3mm. Finding vintage watches in this condition, with the delivery protection label on the back cover still intact, is not easy.
