The “Calendar” term was used by Omega and other watch brands in the 1950s. The marketing point being that this new feature had been added to the mechanical movement: namely the date function. Revue Sport was a popular watch, more often in a steel case meant for rough everyday use. Certina and Seiko used the term Sportsman, while Zenith settled for Sporto. Omega had their Seamaster. We find this gold on steel, elegantly cased “Revue Sport” a bit unusual. It is clearly a dressy watch with its silvered, mint dial and gold applied indexes. The Hugenin Freres (HF) case has some marks on the solid gold cover, but the appearance is near flawless. It is 34 across and only 8.4 mm thick. The crown is a generic replacement. Looking at the manual caliber 356 movement we find a clean setup with screws on the balance. Pulling out the crown to set the watch you can “hack it”, meaning that you can stop the movement in order to set the watch accurately. This also points to the late fifties, but we still date this watch to the early sixties due to the “T SWISS MADE T” and the thin minute and hour hand. The watch runs fine, so we have seen no reason to service it. It is still covered by our 12 months guarantee: Should this watch deviate by more that 60 seconds a day we will accept the watch for  a full service paid by us. Guarantee subject to an inspection by our watchmaker to establish that the watch has not been subject to a hard drop or exposed to water.
