Automatic, high beat vintage chronograph

Day and date

Flyback function too!

All original and very good condition chronograph with attractive dial layout and case design. Notably the Japanese came up with all these “complications” early in the run to produce the first automatic chronograph. The Japanese models were much more affordable than the Heuer (etc…) caliber 11 automatic chronographs and the Zenith (and Movado) El Primeros (although the Zenith had a higher beat (36000) as opposed to 28800 beats per hour in this caliber 8100A). This watch sports the day as well as date (the day feature the Zenith did not offer). The black PVD coating looks fitting and is largely intact on this well kept, black dialed vintage watch. All lume is present and shines under ultraviolet light. The subdial has 5 minute sectors in turquoise, indicating that it could also be used as a yachting start timer. In addition, it has a tachymeter scale (that was a functionality used to measure average speed of cars and units per hour in production). This Citizen was produced in December 1972. The case diameter is 37.5, the thickness is 13.9 and the case length is a hefty 44.7 mm. The 23 jewel caliber 8100A movement runs very accurately, the chronograph zeroes as it should and AntikA guarantees it for 12 months. The flat mineral glas is nearly without scratches.
