Description
Rare, attractive vintage chronograph
Offers both flyback and usual stop/start again chronograph function
In splendid condition
In the late sixties, this Rekord Master from Citizen was one of a kind. The one minute scale and flyback was equalled by Omega Genève and Seamaster Chronostop models, but the Rekord Master could also “stop and start again”. It also sports a date function. Few manually wound Japanese chronographs are found in the sixties, and the classic 1950-1960 chronograph look this watch represents is greatly appreciated among collectors. The very symmetrical dial, with applied hour indexes, and the tachymeter scale, combined with the white crosshairs gives the Rekord Master a very legible and minimalistic look. The red seconds hand is well preserved, and the minute and hour hands have intact lume. The case is very sharp, and the Fischer stainless steel bracelet fits beautifully to the case with end links marked “5”. It will accommodate most male wrist sizes. (There is a ca 5 mm extra flex function in the clasp). We do not know the service history, but the caliber 5702 movement functions and runs well.
