Description

Near mint 42 mm diver from early 1980s

Very attractive dial and “coke” bezel

Untouched, accurate Quartz movement

With such a bezel, smashing hands and a mint dial this is a watch that really appeals to you. We are proud to present it to you at what we think is a bargain price.

Those of you who have followed us for some period of time, will surely recognize the “Monnin” diver here with the same patented steel case and a hefty screw down crown (“Brevet 503.305 M.R.P. S.A.”) that we presently present and have sold on antika.no. These cases are known to have been connected to the French company Monnin. But since the patent (“Brevet”) is Swiss, and M.R.P. S.A. was a Swiss company, we have been told that the case production was in Switzerland, and only the watch assembly was done in France.

This Le Forban diver has a French Ebauches caliber 8121 quartz movement, but as can be read on the caseback: “Automatic” movements were also widely used. This quartz movement can be dated by the imprint 0382 (March 1982). You can spot it in the detailed photo between the caliber 8121 number and the battery. There is an intact red seal on a screw also, showing that there is little chance of anyone having hampered with the movement.

A brand new battery will be fitted before delivery, and this splendid vintage diver is guaranteed for 12 months.
