Description

Mint gold watch from ca 1970

Presented by the Swedish government

Premium Swiss vintage quality, all complete and original

Simplistic design from a famous maker (Movado reference 725). It comes carefully used, complete with signed crown, strap and buckle. In addition to the original Movado strap, AntikA will include a brand new generic black strap in the sale. We are pleased to do this as the original vintage leather can be rather brittle and therefore prone to cracking. The super slim  (less than 8 mm thick) and nice size 18 carat gold case (34 mm diameter) has neither lume or a date window on the perfect silver dial. The caliber 280, 17 jewel movement is set in a metal ring casing that protects against magnetism. It runs fine, so we have not seen the reason to have it serviced. No matter, it is still covered by our 12 months watchmaker guarantee.

Engravings on watchbacks are not always ok. Sometimes it is awkward to be connected to the previous owner, but our opinion is: not in this case. Why? Because the engraving here reads translated to English: “For long and faithful service” (to the Crown – that is the government). The three crowns is the Swedish national symbol you can find on many of the watches, chronographs and timers in our stock. As may be obvious, we rather like that tradition of “3 kronor” engraving 🙂
