A mint vintage jewel for a slim wrist
Rare case 566.005, caliber 681 automatic model
Fully serviced and guaranteed
Pictured on a NOS (new old stock) Omega strap, this miniature vintage gem from ca 1966 is not something you see very often. We have only had one in steel before. This is the gold capped version, featuring an 18 carat gold ring that is more than 1 mm thick. No chance of a steel “bleed through” here. We have sold a large number of Omega gold capped watches, and we have never seen a watch where this relatively thick gold cover has been worn to a state where the underlying metal (stainless steel) has been visible. Therefore, for practical purposes it is a go9ld watch. The silvered dial has gold, applied hour markers that have a center of black onyx. These markers each have a dot of luminescence material, the double marker at 12 having two dots. The dial and hands are all perfect. The original crystal is intact, sporting the tiny Omega logo engraved in the centre. The case is also in perfect, original condition with the Seamaster emblem on the back. Do not believe the “Waterproof” statement though. No vintage watch should ever be considered waterproof. The monocoque case secures a certain kind of water resistance, since there is no back cover gasket to replace in this case. The Omega strap is accompanied by a more sturdy new leather version, included in the price. (The original straps tend to crack very easily with use.) You can choose between a black or brown one.
With its super box, you can hardly find a more elegant and useful gift!
AntikA as guarantees the authenticity of this watch. Only original Omega service parts have been used during the last service that was performed by an Omega approved watchmaker.
