As good as new, but with an unfortunate split in its original crystal between 5 and 6, this large, very attractive watch has an alarm. We have decided to keep the original crystal. The reason being that we think the cyclops is cool, and that we have been unable to locate a replacement that fits. The 4H designation reflects the 4 hands on the dial. As with other Citizen and Seiko watches, the year and month of production can be found on the back (“802…” meaning Febuary 1968). Here “Parawater” is another sign of age, in Japan this was alternatively used for the more usual “Waterproof”. After ca 1973 the term “Water resistant” became the standard, as watch-owners bitterly had experienced the “Waterproof”-terminology to be oversold by the watch industry during the previous 30 -40 years. The lesson learnt today is: never consider a vintage watch waterproof. The dimensions are: diameter 37,6, lug tip to lug tip 44 and thickness 12,8 mm.
