Slim pocket watch of highest quality
Very near mint condition
With decorative, rare steel chain
International Watch Company, Schaffhausen was labelled the finest watch in the world by the British importer E. Harrop in 1936 (about the time when this watch movement was made). The detailing is marvelous when you look at the movement; Geneva stripes, gold set jewels, advanced regulation etc, etc. The serial number 953848 dates the watch. The case number also (994558 from ca 1938), and as often happened, the case was made a year or two after the movement. The dial has some fault in the writing, but apart from that, the whole watch is mint. The blued steel hands and arabic numbers are both in the “Breguet” style, and the sunken sundial is carefully different from the main silvered dial by the concentric decorative circuling. Dimensions are: 48,1 mm diameter and a slim 10, 3mm thickness. The polished, stamped “S9” stainless steel chain is a generous 36 cm long.
