Piepan with dog legs

Gold on steel, no lume, near mint

We think it safe to say that the most sought after Constellation pie pan is the 168.005 from the mid sixties. The dog leg shaped lugs, the very special and recognizable dial and the officially certified chronometer movement adds up to a premium vintage watch. Our specimen has the advantage of a no lume dial with the original Omega signed crystal intact. On the dial the gold hour markers are fitted with black onyx inserts. The hour and minute hands have matching black paint instead of luminous (“lume”) material. Without lume on the dial and hands, everything keeps fresh longer beneath the crystal. Even though many dials with lume are in perfect condition after 60 or so years, the quality of  the Tritium lume varies, as does the method the material was applied in the first place. We are therefore clear to our buyers that a “no lume” dial is our first priority. For collectors this point of course counts too: Watches from the fifties through to the seventies usually have lume, therefore the no lume examples are rarer. Added to that, the very special original decagonal crown (Omega 4204) is intact. The automatic caliber 564 movement has been fully serviced and runs as a chronometer should; very accurately! Serial number on the movement is 25644644 dating the watch to ca 1965. The solid gold covering the steel case shows some light signs of wear, but this Omega Constellation is overall in beautiful, original condition. The diameter is 34 mm.

AntikA as guarantees the authenticity of this watch. Only original Omega service parts have been used during the last service that was performed by an Omega approved watchmaker. The watch will be repaired free of charge for a period of 12 months after purchase, should it stop or start to deviate from correct timekeeping more than a minute a day. Wrong use or visible damage excepted.
