White gold on silvered dial

From the mid fifties, this automatic Omega features a rare caliber 491 with sub seconds (small, not central seconds hand). The perfect dial has chunky white gold hour markers. These are very similar to the applied hour markers used on Constellations from the time. It is the first time we have seen them in white gold, though. All lume plots are present, although somewhat reduced in size by time. The hour and minute hands have some lume degradation, but that can easily be fixed if you do not oppose to resuming them. The fully serviced movement has serial number 15820958, dating this Seamaster to ca 1956. The case is in very good condition, with the text on the back cover is barely discernible: “Waterproof” and “Seamaster”. The sturdy looking case has possibly been polished at one time. Dimensions are: diameter 33,8, thickness 11,3 and lug tip to lug tip 41,6 mm.
