This is an interesting vintage Zodiac. It sports a very unusually shaped, stainless steel, slim case. According to collectors forums, the Olympus model is rarer than many of the other Zodiac models from the time. Study the watch case, it has few marks and the very good condition makes it stand out. The very nice no date dial has a silver burst finish with the stripes going radially from the center. The sweeping seconds hand is plain and pointed, but the hour and minute hands have a profile that gives away the early sixties date. All lume is present, and the applied logo and hour markers are made of white gold. The snap on back cover is not marked “Waterproof”, but “Water resistant” and it has the Zodiac sign of Pisces (Fiskene på norsk). The nice Zodiac habit of putting the serial number between the bottom lugs is followed though: 1472691. The caliber 61 movement has been fully serviced, and is guaranteed for 12 months. A nice detail of the movement is that it stops when pulling the crown; thus making it possible to set it to the second. It is called to hack the watch. Dash watches for flying -, rallying- and military use watches typically have this hacking function to enable synchronizing their watches at start. The very unusual watchcase of this Olympos makes it a nice addition to any vintage collection, and the super condition of this watch makes it worth investing in it. The dimensions are: width 36 mm, lug tip to lug tip 41,4 mm and thickness 8,6 mm.
