Here is a spectacular, large and very attractive desk or shelf decoration. Really a watch (lever escapement, no pendulum), but as often is the case with desk watches: these items are often also referred to as “clocks”. Regarding this Kienzle World timer that is easy to understand because of the size of the thing: it is 29 cm high, has a diameter of 25,5 cm and a base with measurements 13 x 6,5 cm. The finely shaped brass base is heavy and solid, adding a luxurious touch to this early version that was often found for example in the prestigous offices of ship owners and travel agents. (Later versions of the world timer from Kienzle used electric or quartz driven movements. In our opinion these are simpler and not desirable). This world timer dates from the 1950s. It has recently been fully overhauled by our eminent watchmaker, thereby also carrying with it our 12 months guarantee.
